Almost Vegetarian (New): Who is the typical culinary school student?

    Your character description makes me want to go to culinary school just for the interesting people! It sounds like your days are pretty entertaining with that crew around.

    Those descriptions are spot on. They sound like the people I met in culinary school, too! The character I would add is "I don't work for 'the man'." He's the guy who tells you "I got sick of the rat race after 20 years. So I quit my industry. I make a mean chili, so I figure I'd enroll here and eventually open my own restaurant." This guy will burn out before graduation and change to a business major

    So cool that you're a near vegetarian in culinary school. I've always thought culinary school would be fun, maybe something to do after I retire. But I always wonder why there are not any really famous (at least, famous to someone like me who's career isn't food) vegetarian chefs. Maybe the market is not big enough for them to be on, say, the Food Network? (Not that I think to be a real chef you must be on the Food Network...)
